By the way, known as the king of the spices, Black Pepper is the most consumed spice in the world. These are berries taken from the plant called Piper nigrum which is native to South Asia and specially in Sri Lanka, pepper is growing properly by giving its own taste of the flourished soil that is of course the taste of the ground of this small island.

Pepper is usually used as a seasoning ingredient in food making and it has a strong spicy taste mostly from Piperine derived from the seed.

In cuisines, pepper is mostly used to add sweetness, sour and pungency aroma to veggie, non-veggiecurries, add strong floral flavor to soups, porridges, rice, roasted tomatoes and yams, pasta and noodles. Some other usages of pepper in soft foods preparing are making spicy cheese cheddars, pepper biscuits, garnishing bread & buns, mixed grills and roasted vegetable etc.

Also pepper can be paired with salt and some other spices such as cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, coriander, clove, cumin, nutmeg, star anise, chili and turmeric and also with seasoning herbs like curry leaves, pandan leaves, basil rosemary, thyme, zest, cilantro and citrus juice.

When in the roasted cooking, the pepper is one ingredient to finish the touch on dishes, which gives an extra hot and sweet flavor .

And pepper is an additive ingredient in some soft drinks such as tea, iced chai, masala tea, milk, lemon, orange and some other fruit drinks.

There are four varieties of pepper, called Black Pepper, White Pepper, Green Pepper and Red peppercons.

Black Pepper is produced from unripe but still green fruit of the pepper plant. The drupes are boiled slightly for cleaning and prepare for drying. Then the boiled drupes are dried under sun or dryer machines for several days until it get the proper taste and color.

White Pepper is produced solely from the ripen pepper fruit, with the thin darker-color skin removed. The process is known as retting, where that fully ripen red pepper are soaked in water for several days ( about a week) and soften peppercorns. White pepper is now the peel removed, dried peppercorns.

Green and Red Pepper is also like black pepper, is made from unripe fruit, where the dried peppercorns are treated in way to keep the color by canning, frozen drying, containing in pickle or vinegar.

When it comes to the medical benefits , piperine is considered as a variety of antioxidant, which help to reduce the risk of illnesses like cardiovascular diseases, atherosclerosis and neurological issues.

And some pepper in food, helps to stimulate the hydrochloric acid in the stomach, in which it is better digest and absorb happen in the food you eat.  And also pepper in food helps you to improve the strong immunity, by acting as a role of boosting white blood cells.

Mixing pepper with natural bee honey, lemon and ice water, helps to reduce the cholesterol level of your blood as well.

In Ayurveda, pepper is a warming spice as it used in treatments for patients who suffered from illnesses such as arthritis, diarrhea and good as a decongestant for nose blocks.

In paired with other spices, pepper with piperine increases the availability of nutrients such as Vitamins A-C, Selenium, Beta-Carotene and Curcumin etc..
